this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I'm so used to voting for the losing measures that I'm always shocked when one wins (other than the library measures; they always seem to pass). Though I like to think I'm just building up voting karma for this year's general election. Give me this one, political karma, and I'll forgive you for the pot measure not passing.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I am happy with the California primary, esp the fact that now, no matter what, California will still have another Democratic woman in the Senate.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yeah, that's pretty good.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

JFC, someone just asked me what a workplan is. Someone for whom developing workplans should be part of her job. I directed her to our team workplan, which she should be very familiar with. I am Quite Concerned.

I don't know what a workplan is. Fortunately, I don't think it's part of my job description to know. Or if it is, no one's told me.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

My meeting with my boss for our follow-up mid-year raise, possible grade change, tuition reimbursement discussion was deferred to Thursday from today and has further been rescheduled for Friday. Ugghh. I saw one of the write ups from one of my PMs supporting my request and she gave me a HUGE case of imposter syndrome.

Beyond that, work is...work. The kids and actually acting like grown ups and I'm getting a view of having an empty nest. CJ got a summer job in a town over an hour away (his job at the gardening center just ended). A buddy got him the job and they go down and are put up in a hotel during the week and he will be back on the weekends - but that time will be split between his girlfriend, father, and me. K-Bug has a crazy work schedule and has taken to spending a lot of time a town about 30 minutes away (the guy isn't a boyfriend though I think she would like him to be). She has taken to taking Jack down with her, so my kitties are enjoying having full roam of the house.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's a thing anyone should know, but this person really should! Or should have asked at some earlier time. (But it's literally a list of things you plan to do. For your work. Depending on how that's defined.)

Sounds like what I have to put as yearly goals, but probably more specific. My goals always are "Meet requirements for position."

Fingers crossed she was like "OH, duh, I was overthinking it/had it under a different name"? I hate the occasional times when I do that (though recently someone else was asking something super basic of me, and i was like "...uhhhh, seriously?")

I ate more raspberries today. I think I may in fact have developed a sudden (mild) allergy. DO NOT WANT!! WTF, body?? I've never had any food allergies before.

Sorrrrt of. She was already going to do a Gantt chart, which I said could serve the purpose. She's just not that resourceful. She's all, "I've heard of a log frame, but I don't really know what it is." It's a thing you can google, is what!
