ON, I'm hoping that Trump's thing with the judge in the Trump U case, and his utter refusal to back down from being an idiot and a racist, keeps snowballing. May this be the first step down the path of a humiliating loss.

To most of us it is just the latest in a long list of offenses, but there does seem to be more offended noises coming from his "supporters".

In Delray Beach land we are sitting around watching the storm roll by. Thank you Colin for well needed rain. Not battening hatches or anything, but blustery enough that I brought in the chairs from the driveway so they wouldn't go through the window or something unfortunate like that.

We here in insurance adjuster support land are watching Colin suspiciously, as that's not a typical storm track. I've gotten weirdly fascinated by storm tracks in this job. I've got multiple weather tracking websites bookmarked.

That's the first time I've felt like cheering something a Texas politician said since Ann Richards retired!

I'm not sure if I should be worried about Miss Kitty or not. She is 15ish, has lost a weight and but isn't completely bony. She doesn't always groom herself as well as she used to. I've had to comb/cut out mats from the side she usually sleeps on.

But it is recent slightly odd behaviour that has me curious. Normally she and Noodle stay upstairs. They will venture far enough down the stairs to look into the livingroom and meow at me. We have a baby gate at the top of the stairs so that they can have a break from Jack when they want. Kitty has no problem swatting him when he gets to eager but Noodle hasn't figured that out. But I digress. The last couple of days, Miss Kitty has ventured all the way downstairs and onto my lap in the afternoons. Jack knows to give her space, but it is just odd - she hasn't spent much time down here unless she knows Jack it gone.

Other than that, she is acting fine, has her normal appetite, orneriness, etc.

Puffy is okay! I told Tim I wanted a birthday waffle again this year instead of a cake, but then I remembered that Pillsbury has a boxed mix for gluten-free Funfetti cake, which I made for the Easter lamb cake, and it was really good. So then I was torn between waffle and Funfetti cake, and Tim said, why not a Funfetti waffle? But I didn't know if you could put cake batter in a waffle iron. It is a big sloppy mess, but most of my Floridian friends are looking forward to a good soaking. Winds are insignificant for those experienced with hurricanes. No twisters would be best case for sure.

A few months ago I had a recurrence of plantar fasciitis. When ibuprofen didn't help at all, I tried Aleve (naproxen sodium), which helped, but only a little. I gave up on it after one day (three doses, eight hours apart).

A few days later, I suddenly developed numbness in my lips on the right side, and in the pad of my right thumb -- recovering-from-novocaine-after-a-dentist-visit levels of numbness and tingling. I spent 45 minutes puzzling over "What could I have touched this morning with my right thumb that would not only cause this sensation, but transfer it? I've probably touched my right thumb to my face this morning, but it seems unlikely that I only touched the one spot. Am I going to have to go to urgent care instead of work this morning?"

But the numbness went away before I had to leave the apartment, and after a while I stopped worrying that it would come back.

A few days ago, a co-worker mentioned that her daughter had had to stop taking Aleve because of the side effects, and mentioned that one of them was numbness in the face and/or fingers. Aha! Now I have something to blame for that scary little episode -- although the timing remains puzzling. Perhaps I metabolize Aleve slower than usual? That might also explain why it seemed to have so little effect on the pain.

No direct help in that, sorry meara, just my reason for suggesting that you consider the possibility of side effects from either your prescription or OTC meds.
