Glad Penny's back!
The cat came back! Phew.
The very next day!
oh my god, why is it so early.
(I did not think she was a goner.)
I have too many things to keep track of at work, but at least I'm wearing a fabulous dress I got in New Orleans. I really want my aesthetic this summer to be my grandmother in Hawaii in the 50s. (Edit: I know the website says it's early 40s style, but still.)
I love that, Jesse! What shoes are you wearing with it?
That is fabulous and I support your aesthetic ambitions 100%!
Yay for Penny coming in!
Okay, for the record, *I* am not the one who is crazy here: (1) I told an author he couldn't do X because of the type of article he wrote. (2) Author said politely, "Well, the author instructions on your own website say that yes, this type of article *can* have X." [Totally my fault; I didn't look at what the author instructions said.] (3) Manager says "Nope; our internal document for staff only that authors NEVER see says that we don't even publish that type of article in that journal, so he is not allowed to do X even though the only instructions he can access say that he *is* allowed to do X."
There's a problem here, and I didn't cause it. Alla y'all need to get your shit together.
Follow-up message from manager: "Sometimes the author instructions are confusing." No, they literally include the phrase "May include X." That isn't confusing to me.
Now she's telling me to send a message to the senior executive editor asking whether the author can do X. What the shit, lady, IT IS IN THE AUTHOR GUIDELINES THAT HE CAN DO X.
