Zoe: Don't think it's a good spot, sir. She still has the advantage over us. Mal: Everyone always does. That's what makes us special.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Wow. To aurelia.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yikes, aurelia!

And wow, Suzi!

I have had a very successful day, seeing my father, getting a massage, buying shoes, and reading in the hammock! Oh, and grocery shopping! TCB. I mean, not cleaning the house, but there's still time for that.

Thrive to spite them

The Voice doesn't really have mocking auditions. At least that I remember.

There are usually people who are decent but don't have the wow factor or who are good but have ordinary voices but it's not Amerian Idol level. Probably because you only see the contesants when they get to the judges to be voted on the show. (Instead of all the audition rounds American Idol did).

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, they're pretty respectful generally.

Oh yeah, also I didn't watch this season, so I don't know what he sounds like, but this guy made it pretty far this season, so they are still willing to go on talent, not standard good looks.

He sounds amazing. He should have at least been runner up. Atlhough the runner up guy was good.

I have spent the afternoon researching schools and requesting information. Now I'm digging into some research into my position and the requirements to move up, pay ranges, and so on.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

My first weekend beer was last night.

We got up and ran this morning with stroller, kids and dog. I am telling you that when I get to run by myself it feels like a freakin' gift. Then we went to Zootopia, which I surprisingly enjoyed. I was surprised that it was Disney and it felt oddly allegorical, but the animation was great. Then we went to Barnes and Noble where N and G picked up free books for having completed the summer reading challenge. Then we used 5 different gift cards for the rest. Then lunch and a nap.

Now I have to finish a resume and cover letter and submit it then DONE for the day.

Y'all, Miss Louise just called! She'd changed #s a few years ago and I couldn't find her. But she was feeling nostalgic and going through her address book and calling people she hadn't talked to in a while. Nakia's had a second child (first didn't live past 2, hydroencephaly) and he's in school now. Sean's gonna be a father for the first time at 25, she's worried about him stepping up. She had surgery for breast cancer back in March, but is feeling really good and likes the care she's getting. But I have her phone and address now, so that's great. I'm gonna put together a care package for her, or two. She mentioned how she needed new sheets (in the context of getting a new mattress from her church) but then seemed embarrassed and changed the topic. I think I'll get some tomorrow, but that package will be anonymous. The one with requested pictures of the Lokes and my gardening, NSM:)

Made my night.

Sticky and ridiculous today. Not actually that bad, but since today was lots of driving around in a car left sitting in the hot sun interspersed with walking and then coming home to a house shut up in almost 90 humid heat...I'm gluey, even as it's cooled off and much drier now. But I think I'll get into June without installing the ac.

And I fixed the thermometer where Pumpkin chewed through the wire on the outside sensor and dumped in toilet. I can still strip wire like a boss. (It was a talent in college labs.)
