Our wings are not tired

Negative. I am a meat popcicle.

I think you might need to turn on the heat.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I am waiting on my coworker to finish her art of something so I can do mine. I have asked her about it repeatedly. I am worried about my chances of leaving on time.

I'm seeing different stories, but all seem to say suspect in custody.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Sheesh, msbelle, hope you're safe.

I'm fictional, but apparently not perimenopausal yet according to the last hormone screening I did, which is sort of disappointing, really. I'm not planning on using my reproductive organs, other than, you know, the external ones recreationally, so I'm good to shut the systems down at any point now.

Y'all, what am I doing arguing with this person on facebook? On someone else's page, even? Do I think I'm going to convince him of the error of his ways, or make him understand the privilege he's currently enjoying? No. Then why am I spending my extremely limited energy on him?

Not near me Liese, near the White House.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Sean! And with the Corbin Dallas reference!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, gotcha, missed that.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

So the last two days were pretty nice, weather-wise. No rain, temps in the 70s. So what's predicted for the weekend? Rain, and temps in the high 50s/low 60s.

I'm working from home today and I got to sleep in, which is delightful because I had to get up at 5:30a on Wednesday and 4:30a yesterday.

I feel like I actually got a lot of work done this week and I handled a flurry of escalations all morning, so I've slowly been losing motivation to be productive as the day goes on.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I seemed to go through menopause while I was taking care of my dying father. In between the antidepressants, the Xanax, and the general awfulness, I didn't really notice. I just looked around after I went off the meds and realized I had a cat and my period hadn't been by in a year or so.

This week has had its stresses. I'm among the people who might qualify for overtime with Obama's new legislation. (Yay!) But, people in that category at my job have a very different--and not in a good way--benefits package. So HR is deciding how to handle it. I'm thinking a fat raise to get me and my team above the cutoff would involve the least paperwork, but I suspect that's not the way they'll go. We should see in a few weeks.

In better news, the young men next door are tying one on and singing old Bowie songs. They're in an on-again/off-again band, so they're doing a pretty good job of bourbon-Bowie.
