I battle evil. But I don't really win. The bad keeps coming back and getting stronger. Like that kid in the story, the boy that stuck his finger in the duck.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I want to share something from tumblr here, but I can't figure out how to link to it!

Punishingly Intricate

Sunday is supposedly clear skies and 70s

That's a little better, for sure! I can't REALLY complain as we'll be there with fun people (celebrating my best friend's 50th bday) and we're getting massages and hot mud baths. But I was really hoping for hot and sunny.

Also, I just can't get over how James Norton plays both of those roles (Grantchester and Happy Valley)!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I keep hearing how Happy Valley is great, but difficult to watch? I don't need that in my life.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Where do we talk about Grantchester? I have trouble dissociating actors with the first role I see them in--James Norton was a horrible murderer (well actually he was quite an effective murderer, but a horrible person) on Happy Valley, and it took me some time to overcome my distrust of him as Grantchester. Likewise, I will ever love Dr. Tony Hill (Wire in the Blood), and therefore Robson Green.

I got confused because I watched the behind the scenes for Grantchester before I knew James Norton's name. I thought they were saying James Naughton, and then I thought that Robson Green must be James Naughton just looking weird. I didn't figure it out until Happy Valley.

Happy Valley is great--but yeah, difficult to watch.

Playing It's That Guy! with British actors is even more fun than Canadian Actor Bingo.

The primary character in Happy Valley was Caroline in Last Tango in Halifax. And her character's sister is Siobhan Finneran, who's been in everything, but I last saw her as Mrs. O'Brien in first season Downton Abbey.

Um, tangent, sorry?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I think unfriending or unfollowing is probably better than engaging, esp if engaging means a fight.

All I want to do is fight, but I know that's shitty and unproductive. So I'm hiding people to prevent me from getting bitchy at them.

-t, I am your fellow crown-needer. I went to the dentist for a cleaning just now, and it turns out that I broke a tooth and didn't even know it. Sheesh. So, I have a crown in my future. Teeth are stupid. But I like having them.

Gorgeous day today, though, and my dentist is in our neighborhood, so I walked up there and then to the library. I am living 8-year-old Steph's dream.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

8 am on Saturday is too early, mom of Jesse! Too early to assume it's ok, anyway.

That sounds great, lisah! The weather could easily change between now and then, I hope it cooperates with your desires. It's too hot today, frankly, although Calistoga is probably a bit pleasanter than right here where I am, if only because of the proximity to mud and wine.

I like twitter in theory but I don't have time to immerse myself in it and it doesn't lend itself to skimming, t least not for me. Tumblr I can just see whatever's at the top of my dash when I have a few minutes waiting for a report to be delivered or whatever, I don't have enough statements to make to ever post or reblog or whatever. Facebook makes me hate everyone, but it's the only contact I have with some people that I am very fond of, so I try to check in on it every day but not stay long enough to for the hate to build too much.
