Gunn: Well, how horrible is this thing? Lorne: I haven't read the Book of Revelations lately, but if I was searching for adjectives, I'd probably start there.

Idaho is a great state, they have potatoes and... uh... Boise is the capital and... hmm... they have a state song.

Ugh. Am supposed to be meeting with someone right now, he set it up, we need to review these financial documents...and he's not answering emails or on IM or calling in. I know as soon as I try to do something else substantial he will call me. Grr.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ah ha ha -- just had a meeting with a group of people where a fundamental question came up about their role, vis a vis my team and also in general, and the person who is their boss was like, "You're right! That is a fundamental question!" Um. A fundamental question you should be answering, jackass!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Corporate, in their infinite wisdom, has decided to centralize certain cross business groups. We have been through this before - for example, each office used to have an accounting group, then that got centralized to three offices-Boise, Denver, Spartanburg. Now? The bulk of that work is now in Krakow, Poland.

They are putting a ton of effort into training the new folks in Poland and so far the people I've dealt with are getting the work done. But the time difference means you rarely, if ever, can talk with someone there in real time. Everything is delayed. Tonight is their Friday, so any work that we would normally push through on a Friday for us, now needs to be done on Thursday.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good luck for job offer somewhere you want to live, Dana!

I don't know if I can even explain my irritation right now. I developed this report to be used by our department and two other departments for a specific purpose. Someone told our senior director that it had information she could use for a different purpose, so she asked me to send it to her and senior sales. It's not organized for their purposes, it's organized for ours, because that's why it was created. So director asked someone else to reorganize my report for their purposes. Which is all well and good. But this person cannot seem to understand that what she was tasked with is not actually the primary purpose of the report and is trying to tell me to change my report, which would actually make it harder for my department to use. Which she not only sent me in an email but came by my desk in person to tell me about.

I'm way angrier about this than I need to be, but it's just so dismissive of the work I've put in.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Weather ... it's been almost three weeks of almost constant rain. Metro is failing, so a lot of people are deserting it, making traffic worse and worse. My former 40-minute commute home in the evening is now running an hour plus. And we still have hordes of school tour groups adding to the traffic everywhere, indoors as well as out.

That's annoying, -t. Tell her to make her own damn report if what you give doesn't work.

Suzi, that's the same with my company--they've centralized a bunch of tasks, which is fine I. Theory, but not so great if you actually need to TALK to someone as opposed to sending emails back and forth as everyone gets more confused...(the fact that they're in Bulgaria, India, and Mexico doesn't help with the comprehension either)
