Yay new car! Yay new Full Prof! Yay new vacuum!
I'm getting a new blender today about which I'm pretty happy. My old one is older than I am, and my kiefer smoothie obsession finally killed it. I suspect that a new gasket in the base might fix things, but it's probably 50--it has served above and beyond expectations.
It's the hidden-in-a-neck-pillow I don't get! Just check it with your chainsaw!!
Such good advice. I kinda think "Just check it with your chainsaw" would look good in cross-stitch on a pillow. Maybe a neck pillow!
"And it brings up a lot of conflicted feelings including imposter syndrome and "do I want this stress in my life?" "
It's an intense period of self-exposure, and most decent people dread it (there are some unreflective jerks who enjoy the attention), but at least it is the last time you will ever have to go through it on the job. Imposter syndrome is the mark of a careful thinker.
Thanks for the support. I am sure it will be exciting when and if it comes to pass. But... slow road, so about 2 years away, and A LOT of work to do between now and when I apply. But yes, mostly this is a good thing, or will be a good thing.
I hate the word seminal. Noam Chomsky is here giving a talk on his seminal work.
On the brighter side there is now a precedent that may be the beginning of the end for HB2. Maybe. I hope.
For the bathroom provisions, at least. There's so much other poison in that bill.
A guy who cannot stand my boss and is also drunk alla time just got re-assigned to our team. Oh, I foresee lively weekly meetings now. (He's a high-functioning addict with zero incentive to do anything about it. But he does a great job, somehow.)

Ovarial would sound nicer. Is Chomsky a good speaker?

Tony Stark is on your team?

My thoughts went to Peter O'Toole.
