If you want a golden rule that will fit everybody, this is it: Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.
Ooh, I like that. I agree with the meme I saw on Facebook that says they started Konmarie-ing, and threw out all their bills and vegetables. (I mean, I love a lot of vegetables, but I get the sentiment.)
I went through all the excess papers on my desk-side book stand, and threw away a bunch of stuff dating back to 2010. Looks much cleaner now, and I found an unopened Christmas card from my cousin who passed away last year.
I know everyone knows this, but can I just say how bullshit upscale/business hotels are? I'm going to a conference, and staying at the conference hotel, which is a Marriott. Is there free wi-fi? No. Is there free breakfast? No. I wish I were staying at a Holiday Inn Express or similar!
How can a hotel not offer free wifi? That is crazy.
Oh man, that reminds me of when I attended IRA back in 2006. The hotel was isolated in some industrial district, and breakfast was $25! If I'd been paying for it myself rather than on the company dime I'd have set something on fire.
The wifi thing is special bullshit.
There are even two separate prices for different speeds of internet!
And sure, I'm not paying for any of it, but it makes me crazy.
Timelies all!
Thanks, Beverly! My birthday is, in fact, today.
