We killed a homeless man on this bench. Me and Dru. Those were good times. You know, he begged for mercy, and you know, that only made her bite harder.

Oh god, I think Pumpkin is gonna have to wear the cone again. She's licked a bald spot on her front leg. Given all the dust and crap, I'm not too surprised. Gonna give it a try overnight to break the cycle.

We hate the cone. It is Sad Pumpkin.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Is anyone else watching The Family? The last episode was amazing... like Out Of Gas level storytelling.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm not. It didn't look that interesting in previews, but the reviews I've read have been excellent. Maybe I'll mainline it after the season airs.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OK, this is probably going to sound wrong, but: sometimes I'm glad to be single because it means I have to take care of everything myself. My mother's cousin is spending the night (because they have an early flight in the morning and she lives in Rhode Island), and her husband printed out her boarding pass for her! Meanwhile, my mother (married, but you know) is pulling hers up on her phone. My mother, the technophobe!

Jesse, what I got out of that is how RI is that? An early flight means you must stay overnight because it's just so far.

Of course. And I think their flight is at like 9. Ha!

Every time I'm visiting family in Providence they ask if we're staying overnight somewhere.

It doesn't start as strong, but it's become pretty compelling.

And you never have to argue about how it gets done! Or that it's not getting done quickly enough.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs start on Wednesday. I don't know how I'm supposed to work with all the hockey I need to be watching.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I feel like I deserve an adulting medal today. I forced myself to learn new things at work and did it cheerfully! When I got home I paid the bills, triaged email, tidied the house for an hour in preparation for the maid service coming to clean it tomorrow, read for about half an hour...and WROTE. Wrote for the first time since I came down with the flu over two weeks ago.
