There seems to be some consensus that when the county offered early retirements in 2010 because of budget cuts, everyone in the water department who knew anything retired.
Unless all those people disappeared off the face of the earth in the intervening five years, this is exactly the sort of situation for emergency consultant positions paying many times their former salaried rates.

I left work at 6, got stuck in traffic forever, grabbed some clothes for roommate who got released from hospital & handed them off to the friend picking her up, ran errands, logged BACK into work for several hours, helped invalid roommate with some stuff when she got home, and then took a shower.
I have so many things I could do, but I think what I should do is have a gin and tonic while watching an episode of Bob's Burgers and then go to bed.
