I, for one, wasn't looking forward to starting my day with a slaughter. Which, really, just goes to show how much I've grown

It'll be okay. I think we'll have some time, but it's clear he's not going to improve much, so better to focus on comfort than anything else.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'm sorry things have gone this way, but hoping things go peacefully for you and your family and your dad.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

So, random discovery...I was checking my local Goodwill for their Sunday donation hours, and I happened upon their donation guidelines, including a list of what NOT to donate. Which is basically firearms, large appliances, mattresses and box springs, any item with a Consumer Product Safety Commission recall on it...and animals.

Animals.

Which I figure wouldn't be on the list unless enough people had tried it that they realized it needed to be stated. So people were really showing up at Goodwill with litters of puppies, or fish tanks full of live fish? Craziness.

hip deep in pie

I got my cat Clio because some family showed up at the farmers market with a litter of kittens and were literally just handing them out, so I can see it.

This cold is a stubborn bastard. I can't get over how congested I am still.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

At Crate and Barrel the other day, I could not resist buying a tiny springform pan, and it is the perfect size for a quarter-recipe of cheesecake! (The recipe on the cream cheese package, which I picked because it called for four things of cream cheese and four eggs.)

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Oh {{Consuela}}. So sorry to hear it.

Correction - it's a little small, as it puffed up over the top while cooking. But nothing spilled over or anything, so I'm going to call it good.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Plus now you have cheescake, so that's better than good

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

In the main room, listening to a group do sound check.

I just spent way too much at TJs. Among my purchases: sriracha potato chips, beet hummus, cheddar corn puffs, and two different kinds of fancy cheeses.

to be fair, some of this is for chorus snacks tomorrow, and some is for watching the Warriors game tonight (go go go Splash Bros!), but really I was just in the mood to overindulge. Argh.
