Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yay Sara!

Blah. One of my work friends invited me to a crafting night tonight, and I was really looking forward to it, but I'm achy, and I've got a lot of stuff to do in the next few days, and I know that I'll run out of spoons for things that I have to do if I go out tonight. So, I had to cancel. Stupid body.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

WAHOO SARA! This is the best news of my week.

Lisa, I am in for celebratory shenanigans (if I'm invited that is), as long as they don't happen April 18-21st. I will be in Austin for work.

Brenda, bacon or pancetta would also work well in that. Hell, even prosciutto, crisped in a frying pan and then added to the pasta would also be yummy.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Yay, sarameg! That's fantastic!

I have to be on a plane in less than 12 hours. Guess I better pack.

I have to figure out my schedule, because for other reasons, work is a cluster right now and I pretty much come home braindead. Also, holes in my walls.

Coding and Sleeping

That's awesome, sarameg! Congrats!

Ok, got all the right numbers, including current base and company retirement contributions:14% more on base, a whopping 21% including the retirement contributions. And the insurance is going down quite a chunk. Jesus. I wouldn't be making that at current employer 5 years from now, the way things are going there.

hip deep in pie

That's awesome, sarameg.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Woo, sarameg!

You know how on Friday I was thinking I would have to fire someone? He gave his notice today. Problem solved.

sarameg - Apr 06, 2016 3:54:37 pm PDT #19141 of 30003

And I will have separate vacation and sick leave again! Starting at 1.5 times the leave I have now, and after the first year, the sick increases and rolls over. Hell, vacation alone is more than my PTO. And I'll be getting a check for my current unused vacation, which is almost a month's salary.

Dancing on the ashes of my soon to be former employer. Well, after I turn in the signed offer.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Yay sarameg!

I am now the mother of a 12-year-old. In a bit we're taking her out for dinner at the local ramen place and possibly frozen yogurt afterward. This weekend I'll make her her favorite cake, and at some point she'll have some kind of celebration with her best friend. I feel under-planned this year, but Dylan and I lost all of last week to the flu, and AB doesn't really want a big production, so we're good.
