Overwhelming? How much more than whelming would that be exactly?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That all sounds really really bad, Tep.

Ok, so I caved and did grocer, but I only spent three bucks more than the cash I had in pocket, and that included a clearance bag of dog food to tide us over till the expensive stuff gets delivered. I did not buy blueberries or tortilla chips. Please applaud my thriftiness and self control, because I really really wanted blueberries,

Anyway, so I got the kugel ingredients. Yum. Excited for tonight even though, yes, I totally could just be eating the tuna noodle casserole.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Teppy, I hadn't heard anything about that one. How awful.

You got your Great Northerns, a little smaller than Navy beans, both white, and what you use for baked beans and pork & beans.

I usually use navy beans for my baked beans.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You tell me he's not bracing for riots.

That's exactly what they are doing.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That is some serious self control, Liese! You deserve kugel as a reward. [we all deserve kugel just because, really]

brillig

As I recall, I like baked beans. Though that's a lot of carbs.

Yup. It sounds from what I've been reading that the grand jury could rule this week, at which point the prosecutor said he will release the video, and then all kinds of hell will break loose. This is the third black man killed by police in Cincinnati this summer.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I have a muscle spasm in my left shoulder blade area and I hate it.

I also have a very moody teen who is not pleased that he has lost data privileges on his phone and will have very limited screen time starting tomorrow.

I also have wine.

Alton Brown's recipe is excellent, and I usually make them for our Father's Day brunch. So, there are a lot of eggs to balance out the carbs.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I was married to a police office for years, and I have known many fine officers. In some of these recent cases, I have had sympathy for the officers' positions. One thing I have found peculiar, however, is what seems to be a strange uptick in officers shooting people because they said the person was trying to run over them. Cars are very limited as weapons. Unless you're cornered in a parking garage, just dodge the damn car.
