Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I should clarify that when I said "some other girl," I, in fact, meant another grown woman in her 40s.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Strength and comfort to you both, Liese and Consuela.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Tim asked me to go, because he said he forgets things the doctor says (though I said "WRITE IT DOWN") and he forgets things he wanted to ask/tell the doctor (again, I suggested he write it down ahead of time). So I get to be the external hard drive.

This is my dad. A few weeks ago he was in the hospital and complaining to me about how sore he was from a procedure and a doctor walks in and he's all "Doing fine, no pain or discomfort, why do you ask?". GRR.

He's back there now after some complications, so what dad~ma is not heading Suela's way we could use. He's getting to that place where every medical issue or procedure seems to set off a cascade of other issues.

(Here, he went in for a heart catheterization, which they had to try a few different ways because of artery issues (and ultimately could not do), then he developed a blood clot in his fingers from the cath process - which he did not get anything done about even though he had lost feeling in two fingers, until my sister saw how purple they were and made him go to the ER - then in preparing to treat that they saw his kidneys weren't functioning well and yadda yadda.)

I spoke to his doctor this morning and they think they've got a bunch of this in hand, but lordy. And note the original issue he went in for still has not been addressed.

Oh man, brenda! Best to your dad as well!

My boss just cancelled our weekly meeting, forever. Now I have to try to find time "as needed." And his EA is about to take a different job. That should be fun...

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Dad~ma to you too, brenda.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Consuela, Liese, love and strength to both of you. It's all so hard.

brenda, health~ma for your dad, and also some communication and go-to-the-flippin'-doctor ~ma. Dads, man.

I wish my boss would cancel the weekly meeting forever.

brillig

As I write this, we have had more customer cases than we've had on the worst days I've seen combining hurricanes and bad updates. I bet we will easily eat 2000 cases today. Fortunately, that's mostly people chatting in saying "I can't connect, is your system down?" and we say "Yes," and they swear at us and leave. Great for handle times, but kind of wearing on the nerves.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

In better work news, there's a woman who used to be on my team, but switched to another, higher-stress/longer-hours team a while back. Now she's pregnant. I have been planning to try to get her back on my team when she comes back from mat leave, and she just said that exact thing to me! So that's something to look forward to in 6+ months.

Yikes, brenda, good luck.

Dad seems to be doing better today, but still no firm news.

Strength and peace to you and yours, Liese.
