Separately I need to vent. I'm beginning to hate weekends. CJ's car died a few weeks ago so we have been sharing my car. For the most part it is OK, but it means I end up carless on the weekends. He still works Saturdays at the dojo near our old place and then he goes to his dad's which is close to the dojo. K-Bug has a new gentleman friend who lives about 30 minutes away. She had been there since Friday.

I know I am more inclined to hermit but I need to grocery shop and I am supposed to go to a potluck this evening. K-Bug said she will be home at some point today and I can take her car.

CJ needs a real job so he can afford to get a new to him vehicle. He has been applying but it is that circle of he needs his own vehicle to get to work but he needs a job to get his own vehicle.

I'm just so frustrated with it all. I can't afford to just get him his own car and I can't just flat out deny him use of mine.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday Tom!

Happy birthday, Tom!

Hanging out with Dad at the hospital. They are treating him for pneumonia, but won't release him until he can eat, which is not happening at the moment.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I said it on FB, but it's worth saying here, too: Happy Birthday, Scola!!!

Consuela, I hope your dad starts eating.

We went out for brunch at a place that makes a lot of their dishes gluten free by using GF bread. So I ordered the French toast, and they brought out 2 plates of it. I said no one else at the table ordered French toast, but they said because the GF bread slices were so small (and they're a good 25%-30% smaller than regular bread), they made 2 plates of it for me.

However, I did not eat all the French toast. That's a bit much even for me. Though I did eat all the fruit that came on top of it.

So now I'm home and cleaning stuff. Sheets are in the washing machine and I just did the dishes and cleaned the stovetop. Next up is cleaning the bathroom. Later: steam-mopping the kitchen and bathroom floors. Woo.

It's sunny and supposed to hit 60, so I plan to take a walk later (though I have to wonder when we're going to hit 60, since it's 3:00 and we're only at 49.)

Our wings are not tired.

I have managed to write out a shopping list and meal plan for the next 6 days (3 meals a day even). DH and I are still doing low carb and getting bored so a more varied menu has to happen. This took about 3 hours to work out with the considerations of what he eats and what I eat and all that. I used the Atkins meal planner thing, but I didn't find the recipes all that inspiring so next week I will have to branch out. Now off to Costco.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Happy birthday, Tom!
