My friend who played minor pro hockey was making less than I did on a weekly basis back in 2000, though with perks from the booster club and area businesses I think he had a bit more disposable income.
Minimum salary for an NHL player who finishes the season with the team is currently $575,000.
I am over: contractors who give you great hope with prompt first callback and then fall off the face of the earth.
I think gmail fails sometimes and lets different people sign up for addresses that the delivery system doesn't differentiate. I signed up for firstname.lastname but I am constantly unsubscribing FirstnameLastname from lists. I get a lot of her family correspondence too.
It's a Google alias thing. username.[xyz]=username[xyz]=username[xyz]+[anything here]. It's convenient when you need different identities pointing into the same inbox, but shenanigans when a different person tries to use it.
It's not a fail on gmail's part -- it has simply never bothered with dots in addresses, so FirstLast could never have signed up for that address in the first place. It's her problem if she keeps giving out that address...

I just want to know why people think that address is theirs, if gmail won't let them sign up for j.smith@ if jsmith@ is already taken.
Yeah, it's just people stupid.

My problem, because I get their shit.
so FirstLast could never have signed up for that address in the first place
Yeah, I know that's what they say. I'm just not fully convinced.
I tracked at least one down, and she had a number in the correct one that was apparently too much to remember when giving her email to people.
