It's gorgeous here, and a friend's gf is visiting, and I had to go pick up the race packet for my race Saturday, so we took a nice walk around the lake (almost 3 miles). So pretty out. But now I want a nap, not to keep doing more email shit.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

It is veering wildly from pleasantly warm to OMFG cold here, approximately every 10 minutes or so. Tommyrot had sleet up near him.

The pool closed only a third of my swim in, but with not eta on reopening tonight so I guess that's all I get. And it was really working the kink in my neck out and I'd just hit a groove, damnit.

I guess I can pick up my yard a bit.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I was really confused by piles of snow on Lake Street Tuesday. I was pretty sure it didn't snow on Monday. It turns out Chicago Fire put it there overnight. Ma Nature messes with us enough, we don't need tv/movie weather, too!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Temperatures continue to bounce around. 70s today and tomorrow, with possible thunderstorms. 50s for the weekend.

What are psychometrics in regard to information that might be transferred from one computer program to another? There's a company trying to import their psychometrics into our program, and their website is full of jargon about synergizing and optimizing and bringing inter-system communications into the digital age, and my old Communications degree is curling up in a corner of my brain and crying.

Of course...I am "done" with work at 3:30 and two of the contracts came through a few minutes ago. I did my part of the process and now to wait again.

And here comes another snow squall in time for the drive home. I love spring!

Our wings are not tired.

It is hot and sticky. 10 day forecast calls for hot and sticky. We just ran around the park a bit with the dog. It was hot and sticky but she didn't seem to care.

Connie made my head hurt.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I had too much work to justify going to a work fun event this afternoon, but since I RSVPed and they had to pay for me anyway, I decided to abandon work and go to a chocolate/wine/beer/booze pairing tasting. It was really fun and I'm glad I did it, giant pile of work notwithstanding. I got a free bar of premium chocolate out of it, too.

So I've had some beer, some sparkling wine, and some whiskey. My manager handed me a bottle of sparkling red as I was running out the door to catch the shuttle, so I'm taking that with me to a friend's house for dinner.

My newbie won't be in the office tomorrow, so I get to work from home.
