Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

But from, like, 2% to 4%, right? He's never actually been a serious candidate.

He's up to 11% (eta: in New Hampshire)

Nope.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and businessman Donald Trump top the list of GOP presidential contenders following their back-to-back campaign launches in mid-June, and are the only two Republican candidates holding double-digit support among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents.

brillig

You just have to think Hilary's staffers look at each other and go, "There's a gotcha somewhere waiting, there has to be. They've got nothing. Is there somebody in the backfield just waiting to step over the bodies, like in short-track speedskating?"

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

After his racist comments, Trump's Republican primary poll numbers have gone way up.

How do racist fuckwits have the time to take polls when they're so busy buying up all the Confederate flags and burning churches?

I have today and tomorrow as corporate holidays. So far today I've slept in, made breakfast burritos for lunch, done a load of laundry, did some data spring cleaning and backing up, and now I'm attempting to wash a rug for the first time in about a decade.

Bathroom, check! Vacuum check! Neatening, half check! Maybe now a shower and see about laundry.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

After his racist comments, Trump's Republican primary poll numbers have gone way up.

It's extremely depressing. But it's also understandable in that he went from part of the bland critical mass of similar sounding politicians, to standing out, even if it was for jackassery. Remember, Michelle Bachman, Herman Cain, Rick Perry also had meteoric rises (and sharp falls) when they stood out as different. I just read somewhere that it's part of a cycle. Discovery being the first step.

But, people are fucking stupid too.
