I'm so ungrateful -- in the continued saga of Jesse Goes to the Doctor, I just made an appointment to get an IUD, and I'm disappointed that her first available was at 3pm on a Friday! That's something I would have taken the whole day off for! It's also a month away, which is probably for the best, given the three appointments I've had this week and one more next week. I'm sure everyone on my team thinks I'm interviewing.

Interesting wake-up call this morning, someone crashed their car into a brick planter in front of my apartment. Going the wrong way on a one way street. Main Street. At 7:45 am. No ambulances, so apparently the driver wasn't seriously injured. Which I suspect we can thank his passengers Jim Beam or Jack Daniels for.

It looks like I'm going to be riding in a minivan for 6 or so hours today through rain and freezing rain. Yuck.

I succumbed to the Hamilton lure. I had an appointment with the eye doctor, which always leaves me blind for the rest of the day, so I got it on my iPad (which is always with me) and listened to it on the way home and then at home until I fell asleep. I've been listening to it in bits and pieces on the way in to work in the mornings. And they do enunciate beautifully - it's quite a relief to actually know what they're singing.

And, as a side note, I read somewhere that they sing/speak much faster than is usual ... that if they sang at the usual pace, the show would be six hours long.

Still have a migraine. Want to stab myself in the face. Having to work is killing me.

Oh Consuela, that's so hard. I suspect you are right, having travelled down this path before yourself. Which I guess is a way of saying you'll know when it's time to accept that it's time. Sending you lots of strength and support and love.

I don't know why it didn't hit me until just now, but now with her boy haircut, Frances is mistaken for a boy All. The. Time. Living in LA, the confusion tends to be easy-breezy and she couldn't care less. But if we lived elsewhere and people were giving her crap about it? I'd be getting all Mama Bear on them. And if someone wanted to police her restroom use?! No fucking way!

Yeah, I also have a number of female friends who have been side-eyed or outright yelled at in women's bathrooms, because they have short hair or are butch--not even the super butchy ones, just not super feminine! I've really never understood it for the women's side--we're all in stalls anyway!

I have today off, and wanted to sleep in, but the house cleaner comes at 8AM, so not only did I have to finish straighening up (so she CAN clean) but she makes enough noise that I couldn't have slept. Maybe I'll nap this afternoon--my dance weekend starts later today and I want to be able to stay up late tonight!

Also weird: I was supposed to have one last work trip, Monday and Tuesday. But the people there canceled and need to reschedule. Won't know until Monday if the rescheduling will be with me, or if they'll say to have someone else do it since I've got my new job. But the idea that I may have ALREADY HAD my last work trip?? SO WEIRD.
