Man, so, like, I called a friend out on how he only wants to talk when he's unhappy...and he apparently thought about it and has changed his ways because we just had a good long chat and there was no whining in it at all! I didn't know that would work! I did it kind of jokingly (and may have been slightly tipsy at the time) so I didn't think he would a) remember or b) take me seriously, but hey, go me for defining what I need in a relationship a little better. Who knew you could ask for these things?

My conservative family members and the better educated and more thoughtful end of my conservative high school classmates in Alabama and Georgia AFAICT almost all voted for Kasich. I hardly know any Trump supporters, thankfully...but almost all of my family and friends I'm still in touch with from down South have at least a bachelor's degree.

Some pretty conservative members of my family are as disgusted with the GOP nominees as I am, and are saying that they'll hold their noses and vote Democrat come election time. I hope that's an indication of the same thing happening nationwide.
My best friend is still posting ads for Trump to facebook, but at least I'm fairly sure his wife's vote will cancel his out.
Dad fell in the shower this evening and was ok but then his side started swelling up so he took ambulance to hospital and mom and I followed in car. I'm up here in Wilmington because my mom is getting an award tomorrow or I guess later this morning. Anyway, he's in a room in the ED with a doctor and nurses and we are waiting. Good thoughts DEward are appreciated.
They've taken him for a ct scan but he's alert and hassled my mom about going home to get some sleep. As if.
