Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Off-topic (but nattering), I wanted to share this - an orphaned bat named Jackie Sparrow ... being sponsored by Johnny Depp (one brief photo of him as Jack Sparrow).

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I had a huge crush on Aaron Burr when I was in my teens.

Slightly off-topic, but I had a huge crush on Nathan Hale in Junior High.

As so often happens within the ranks of Buffistas, so glad I'm not the only one!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Bats are always on topic. As are historical crushes.

I think the Hamilton love is getting to be more prevalent these days, but you can consider yourself to have been ahead of the crowd.

information libertarian

Fans of Nathan Hale should definitely check out the graphic novel series Nathan Hale's Hazardous tales, by a guy whose real name is also Nathan Hale. My kids love them. He even made World War I comprehensible for 9 year olds. (There are bunnies.)

ION, remember that job? I wrote politely yesterday to withdraw from the search. The new chair of the committee wrote back to ask me to reconsider. Heh. (No.)
