Yes. Men like sports. Men watch the action movie, they eat of the beef, and enjoy to look at the bosoms. A thousand years of avenging our wrongs and that's all you've learned?

Transcript of the oral argument this morning at the Supreme Ct on the abortion case: [link] I think it will be Friday until they release the audio.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's what I don't get, that some people hate her so much that they'd rather vote for Trump. The misogyny on display is really depressing.

Yeah.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

She's a Clinton, and that means she's the devil.

Yeah, I recall a good bit of the hate coming not from misogyny, but resentment that she and Bill came to power as progressives when by rights anyone coming from a backwater state in the South should be firmly mired in the 19th century. The "she should know her place" seems divided between her being a woman and having been First Lady of a small state in the middle of the country rather than the coasts or Texas.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Doesn't really make any more sense, that.

"How dare these hicks from the Ozarks act like they're the equals of world leaders--and be respected in return!" Classism runs deep in this country as well, defined by money and contacts.

Yeah, America is not a classless society, our classes just aren't defined by titles and hereditary landownership.

Because of the TV show, I've been thinking about the OJ trial a lot lately, and I'm amazed at what a perfect shitstorm of race, gender, and class it was. It just brought to the foreground everything that Americans like to pretend doesn't exist.

Oh, yeah: rich male vs black male, insanely popular athlete vs black man with a white woman.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

It is time for me to leave, but I am entering hour three of a conference call with my coworker, who is currently showing me every page of a 7-page document she edited. You'd think this might be a fast process, but it is not.
