Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

I've never had MLK Day off as a holiday, so I don't really resent coming in to work today. We did have our crazy neighbor stopping by Friday and rattling off a racist screed about Martin Luther King Jr. not being a great man because he didn't send others to die for his cause, which made for a very awkward afternoon in an office full of mostly progressives.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I feel like starting all kinds of shit on FB (because where else?) about people who unthinkingly praise MLK while calling out for destroying all Muslims, or whatever.

I am also very torn about the Democratic presidential candidates. I just fear that if we end up with Sanders, people will vote for whatever insane Republican candidate there is, because they don't want single-payer healthcare and higher taxes.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I just got up. i left my alarm set to it's usual time so I could enjoy the luxury of turning it off and going back to sleep. Ah. I don't mean to gloat, it's just been to hard to get up on time lately that not having to feels extremely good.

Should really start Doing Stuff, though.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

My client is closed today, but I'm working because Tim's at work and I might as well get stuff done. I'm sure as hell not going outside, because it's not even double digits yet. So -- work. Probably more laundry.

Yes. I would be thrilled with Sanders as POTUS, but I just don't think he can win. But I also like Clinton a lot and think she has a good chance of winning.

I managed to run in the brief window of sunlight but it looks like it's going to rain again. (Sigh.)

Gotta groom the dog & vacuum & start laundry, & then get to go play with a friend. Have to decide: lunch in downtown & then Brooklyn at 1:45? Or go see Chi-Raq at the Parkway, which is cool, but the food isn't as great. Decisions, decisions!

Oh! I just found out this weekend that we're getting an Alamo Drafthouse.

I want Clinton as President and Bernie as whatever Cabinet secretary is in charge of health and human services.

And I need to stop defaulting to Cabinet minister. I am not a subject of the Queen (God save her).

That would work for me. I like Bernie, but I really want a Dem to be next president and worry he can't carry the general.

I'd take Bernie for HHS or Labor (like Robert Reich was) or head of the Consumer Protection Bureau, or Treasury. (Treasury or State?)

Frankly, between them, they'd make a pretty decent President. Although they need to hire Bill McKibben as a national environmental policy advisor.

I don't know how Bernie would do at State, which is more foreign affairs. His strength seems to be making America a better place of the regular people.
