"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Bro had an infection of his pericardial sac, most likely caused by a hard blow to the chest, along the line of what one might get playing rugby perhaps :)

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Vortex, whatever the heck is going on, I'm glad you had an assessment by the EMTs, and I hope if it isn't some minor weirdness that you are able to get it sorted out soon.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Another 7am meeting. I hate everyone so much.

I'm glad everything was okay, Vortex.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I thought I hated everyone while waiting for the bus for 20 minutes in the second hot day of the year, but that is nothing compared to a 7am meeting.

Glad you're OK, Vortex!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I am glad you are okay, Vortex.!

I am not glad that it is Monday after a very nice three day weekend, or that I already have 6 new tasks waiting for me at work.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Left my orajel at home. That's gonna make for distractions. However, my inbox is not full of too many demands from Friday and my afternoon meeting got moved to tomorrow, so not too bad as Mondays go.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Vortex - any word from your doc yet today? I'm glad to hear it wasn't anything that required immediate transport to the hospital and am so glad you got that checked out.

My asthma was flaring up while we were in Cheyenne on Saturday. I had brought my nebulizer and meds with us. Our friend G, who gave us a ride to the fairgrounds has a household outlet converter thing in his truck. At one point my lungs were not responding to my inhaler so we headed to the truck only to discover that we couldn't find the med that goes in the machine. Which, of course, kicked up my anxiety. As we walked back, we passed an ambulance so we stopped to chat with them and see if there was ANY chance of getting a neb treatment from them...nope, would have to be transported. The EMT checked on my lungs and said I sounded pretty good, which helped my anxiety and I was able to get my lungs back under control.

Tomorrow my baby boy turns 19. In August he started college AND an EMT course - effectively taking 22 instruction hours per week for 6 weeks. Going to have to brace the household for school drama.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh Suzi, that sounds unfun. I'm glad your lungs managed to behave themselves. Also sending Stay Well vibes to Vortex!

I had a migraine last night that was painful enough to keep me up from 2-4:30 or so. That was partly because lying down made it really awful. I am tired and feel a bit hollow headed today, but the headache seems to dialed down to background noise, so I can live with that. But I should ask the more experienced folk here what I can take when that happens again, given that I don't have any migraine-specific meds in my cupboard.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

You can take ibuprofen (Advil, etc.) and acetaminophen (Tylenol) together, and sometimes that knocks out a migraine for me. You can take 800 mg of ibuprofen, no matter what the bottle says (800 mg is the dose you get if a doctor prescribes it, so it's okay; just don't take it more often than every 6-8 hours).

So if it's all OTC stuff, you can take 4 ibuprofen and 2 extra-strength acetaminophen every 6-8 hours. Caffeine helps, too, which is in Excedrine Migraine formulation (which I think is caffeine, acetaminophen, and maybe aspirin).

Aimee also recommended putting your feet in a bathtub of really hot water while you have an ice pack on the back of your neck. The hot water draws your blood to your feet, which helps make your head stop pounding. It actually helps A LOT.
