First look at Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange: [link]
Okay. I'm not hating that.
Yeah, it's a lot less "normalized" than I'd feared. It reminds me of the updated look he had in the Warren Ellis/Mark Buckingham run in the mid 90s.
Finally finished Jessica Jones. Well, that was IMO a lot better than AoS has been. I care a hell of a lot more about Malcolm and Trish and Jessica and Luke than I do about most of the SHIELD agents (except for May), who is awesome.
That said, woah, that was seriously creepy and heavy and cringe-worthy. BLENDERS, OMG.
Solid casting, though.
When it comes to the Marvel vidverse, I would much prefer that Agent Carter was the featured series, and Agents of Shield used to fill in the hiatuses.
I'm fine with it the way it as is, as Agent Carter's series length and scheduling probably lends itself better to quality storytelling.
I think most series would benefit from shorter seasons, less need to pad out storylines.
I'm about half way through Jessica Jones; it's a very compelling story. I didn't realize until the second episode that the Luke from the bar was Luke Cage. Dur. And Tennant is doing great at being really, really creepy. Eeesh. And talk about graphic! Good thing gore and violence doesn't bother me for the most part.
ABC has ordered a pilot for the Bobbi/Lance S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff.
