Holy shit, X-Men ’97 is industrial-grade, extra-strength melodrama. They are FOOLS to deploy that much melodrama. They do not understand the forces they are dealing with.

I had to look up Cassandra Nova because I wasn't familiar (though she apparently was in Astonishing X-Men and I forgot about it) and that is the sort of bonkers backstory that only shows up in comic books and soap operas.
