Reluctant to post because I don't know much about DID, but I think it's possible that if Marc was both the original AND an Egyptology expert, those skills could have transferred to Steven, and now Marc is cut off from them. I think that's a thing with DID?
Marvel Universe: Infinite Chrises
Discussion of all Marvel Cinematic Universe related movies and TV shows, including, but not limited to, the Avengers, Captain America, Agent Carter, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Daredevil, Spider-Man, Ant-Man, etc., etc., etc. ad-infinitum.
Discussion of non-MCU Marvel titles like the X-Men or the Fantastic Four is also permitted. Ties to comics may be discussed, but this is not the primary forum for comics discussion (see the Other Media thread).
Spoiler policy: For broadcast TV shows, blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast. For movies and Internet streaming shows, whitefont all plot-related discussion until it's been in wide release two weeks. Posters are encouraged to preface their posts to indicate the subject, particulary if switching subjects.
I'm such a medical nerd that my first response to Tom's whitefont was "Really? Cool!" I did read somewhere that Oscar Isaac did a lot of research on DID because he didn't want to fuck up his portrayal(s). Which, good for him.
Tom, that'd be a cool explanation and soothe some of my irritation. So I'll go with that for now!
Thank you all for validating my feelings. I do think it's lovely, I'm just more impatient with some of the cliches than I used to be (character asks really significant question but it is never answered! Character outlines an important flaw in a plan and everyone ignores it and then it turns out to be an important flaw in the plan!). But the acting and visual effects are great and I'm really enjoying them.
One question: why on earth did the street vendor get all squirrely at the mention of a clearly centuries-dead mummy? And for that matter why was he on display in wossname's faux-Louvre-entrance? Was the tomb only *just* looted? That seems like odd timing, doesn't it?
Edited because while I am enjoying elements of it, saying I'm really enjoying the show seems a bit much given all my complaining! Also editing my posts afterward is just what I do and maybe we don't comment on that anymore? I've been away so long I don't know what the etiquette is these days.
It's honestly leaving me pretty meh, and that's with the Egyptian mythology aspects factored in.
I'm not really following the plot and I don't know who to root for but I like the human characters well enough. I don't exactly trust that it will eventually make some kind of sense but I haven't despaired of it, either.
I enjoy that Steven's version of The Suit makes me think of English Bloke Man from Space Opera
The board doesn't tell everyone that you've edited anymore so if you don't want to comment you can get away with that, and sometimes I do if I just fixed a typo that I hope no one read yet but I generally still comment when I edit, I think
Thor trailer.
Is he trying to start up Thor/Starlord slash?!
"Start" is probably not the word you're looking for.

Service Thor/Starlord slash?
Whee, that looks fun!
