Angel: He is dead. Technically, he's undead. It's a zombie. Connor: What's a zombie? Angel: It's an undead thing. Connor: Like you? Angel: No, zombies are slow-moving, dimwitted things that crave human flesh. Connor: Like you. Angel: No! It's different. Trust me.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I watch the Marvel stuff with a couple of friends, one of whom is seriously into the comics. She also reads up on future Marvel movie plans. She’s been saying, “Kang, Kang, totally Kang,” since episode one. Which isn’t to say that they couldn’t have foreshadowed it better for people who aren’t hardcore, multimodal fans. But apparently they didn’t pull the ending entirely out of their nether regions.

I’m willing to listen to Hiddles read my car’s maintenance handbook (who has phone books anymore?), so a finalé that was exposition-heavy was fine with me. The whole “We’re here to pimp S2 and set up the next Dr. Strange and Ant Man movies, ” (if the titles are anything to go by) is less fun, but I made my peace with that kind of shenanigans after Captain America 1.

My local Ren Faire is doing a Loki Day later this month: [link]

A truly unique variant of a day.

Lokis assemble! Bristol needs your help to capture photos of the numerous variants throughout the Faire on your Instagram Story (be sure to tag the Bristol Renaissance Faire so we can share them) – and we’ll select a random winner to receive return tickets to the Faire!

Today only – don’t miss Loki’s Lifeline – a delicious new cocktail – while supplies last.

That is delightful, Kalshane!

A group of people just walked by me and the only word I caught of their conversation was “variant” and my first thought was Loki but I suppose it more likely virus

I don’t know what to expect from What If including when I will get a chance to watch it…

"You should never say bad things about the dead, only good… Joan Crawford is dead. Good.” —Bette Davis

I loved the animation of the What If? episode, and that they got most of the cast of the original movie back for their roles. But the story didn't wow me. Once Agent Carter was super-ized (and why did she grow so unusually large like that? Schmidt and Bucky didn't, and Steve apparently grew because he started out sickly and underdeveloped), she seemed to use brute force to solve every problem. What happened to her brilliant mind and strategic competence? Steve becoming WWII Iron Man felt like the writers couldn't stand to let the story be centered on Peggy. And the constant repetition of plot points and dialogue from CA:TFA really rubbed me the wrong way, just as it does in fanfic when the writers parrot their favorite lines from the source material.

I hope they do better with the writing in next week's offering.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Word, -t. I found that hella distracting.

I found it hard to believe that t'Challa wouldn't go home, even if just to prove that it was gone.

Also that even t'Challa could convince Thanos to be less genocidal.
