Here are our reactions to the first episode:
Me: "Is that Batroc the Leaper? From Winter Soldier?" [checks IMDB] "That IS Batroc the Leaper!" Tim: "So...no one stays in jail any more?"
Tim: "Damn, Bucky is HOT with short hair." Me: "You're just now figuring that out?" Tim: "Shut up; I'm into it."
Me: "Oh, Sam. If you had watched Buffy you'd know you were never, ever going to get that loan."
Agreed, juliana
You and Tim are not wrong about any of that, Tep (although I had to google Batroc and am sure I will forget again in 5 minutes).
M was SO EXCITED about George St. Pierre (the MMA fighter turned actor) coming back as Batroc. Also, I hopehopehope there's another showdown between Batroc & Cap (but with Sam as Cap), and Batroc taunts him again, and Sam!Cap is having none of that. They will never get to "On va voir", because Sam will shoot him ASAP, a la Indiana Jones.
I was mostly confused about how the hell Rhodey got healed from his injuries, and why is he seemingly still active duty after said injuries.
I was just so pleased to see Don Cheadle I forgot all about that!

I 100% assumed he was wearing the Stark Assistive Leg Technology under his pants.
Yeah, we saw as of Infinity War Stark had functional nanotech armor, I bet Rhodey has some sort of malleable lower body brace/exoskeleton that's form-fitting enough to be unnoticeable under clothes.
I forgot about Rhodey 's injuries as well.
I kept thinking Torres was going to die. I liked most of the opening action but it went on too long.
It feels like TFATWS has too many moving parts.
I'm really liking the character stuff and am lukewarm about the action. Started the second ep thinking, "Oh no, don't make me like him... okay, so we're being sympathetic and nuanced, fine" and then hated him again by the end of the episode. Sticking true to the Marvel theme of "enhancements only matter when we want them to," Walker and Battlestar did at least as well in the fight on the trucks as Sam and Bucky. I have nothing against Erin Kellyman but I find it super weird that her character story so far is basically the same as in Solo. Continue to be very confused about what is and isn't public knowledge. Confused by the implication that Zemo is the best source for Hydra knowledge. Didn't really think he deserved the full operatic buildup.
Anyway, I'm loving this so far, and I even love that I have so many things to complain about.
