ACK! NOOOOOOO! Especially given the way Far from Home ended, that is a TERRIBLE development. Sony, don't be stupid! Disney revitalized this character in a way you utterly failed to do!

There is a thread of hope, however, that Spider-Man's fate within the MCU could still be salvaged. BuzzFeed News has confirmed negotiations between Disney and Sony about the character's fate remain ongoing, including how much Sony's Spider-Man movies could remain a part of the MCU.

I'm just imagining every Sony tentpole release over the next few years opening on the same date as a Star Wars, MCU, or Disney Princess movie.

I gotta say, I don't think Sony is to blame for this. Sounds like Disney wanted even more money and tried to strong-arm them and Sony said no. The current arrangement was good for fans and overall storytelling,but it seems to me that Disney is the one that tried to alter the deal and the one we should blame here.

Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.
Disney wanted a 50/50 split (versus the 95/5 they have now.) That doesn't seem unreasonable to me, though I'm sure there's all sorts of other behind the scenes stuff going on that makes it more complicated than that.
