Got to say, I dug this first episode. Jumped right in with some humor and all the feels.

And tight black jeans.
I may have a problem.
Connie, I also thought of Fred in Pylea wrt Gemma.
Future scene prediction:
Fitz and Simmons are released from sickbay, only to have Mac wordlessly usher them to Director Coulson's office.
Coulson wasn't there, yet. Fitz speaks first.
"What are we going to tell him?"
"'Handsome boyfriend saved me from the monsters?' Except I saved myself until I saw your signal." said Jemma.
"Right. There's that."
"Yes."
"Yes." agreed Fitz. "Wait! handsome? Boyfriend?"
"We'll work on it," Gemma replied, as Coulson entered the room.
And tight black jeans.
Chloe Bennett has never pinged me as more than generically Hollywood pretty, but I was digging her with the shorter hair and the black tank top.
When Coulson was talking to Spy Lady, did he say "cagey banter" or "KGBanter"?
KGBanter.
So desperate ... but still smart and prepared.
"You could use it as a booster seat"...so badass/smartass. Like I didn't already adore him.

The shorter hair definitely made her seem more believably a grownup. I found the tanktop a little problematic, just in that it made me think that if I were leaving the office for some fieldwork that I could reliably assume would be active and/or fighty, I might add a good bra to my uniform.
I might add a good bra to my uniform.
Right? There was a lot of side boob showing, for a tank top.
Well, I never said it was practical.
On the flip-side, having split a pair of jeans while attempting to sword fight in them, I'd question the wisdom of wearing tight jeans when expecting fighty stuff as well.
