This is so nice. Having everyone together for my birthday. Of course, you could smash in all my toes with a hammer and it will still be the bestest Buffy Birthday Bash in a big long while.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I just got back from Antman and the Wasp. In a movie chock full of supertech, I'd say the most impressive is Michelle Pfeiffer's mascara. 30 years in the quantum zone, and it looked fresh as a daisy. If I put mascara on at 8 am, it's usually migrated to beneath my eyes by noon. I enjoyed it, even if the Antman section of the Marvelverse seems (to me) a bit like the second cousin that you only think about when he shows up at extended family events.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I just got back from seeing Ant Man and the Wasp, and enjoyed it. Nice fun relief after the heartbreak of Infinity War. Do stay to the very end of the credits. Also I agree with Calli. I said Where did she get makeup?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

We saw Ant-Man and the Wasp yesterday, and of all the things I didn't expect, getting Morrissey stuck in my head was what I expected the least. Hilarious.

Also, I know every single actor in Hollywood has cosmetic work done (I'm not naive), but still, Paul Rudd must have a painting in an attic somewhere.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

If it's plastic surgery, his surgeon is really good at following the "make me look just like that!" direction about photos from 1995.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

One of DH's co-workers investigated the Paul Rudd question in depth.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I have a Paul Rudd story for ya. Our friend did the proper for the film and near the end of the shoot he mentioned to Rudd that he was going to be seeing the Springsteen show on Broadway snf they bonded because Rudd is a huge fan, apparently. Several months later, at the premiere, he is walking out and hears "Hey, Andy! What did you think?" Andy said "I think you were very-" "Not ME, dude, how was the Bruce show?"

Golly, yes!

So I saw AM&tW last night, and I enjoyed it, but I have to ask: What the hell was that with Michelle Pfeiffer's false eyelashes and perfect smoky eye? I was entirely distracted by that the entire time she was on the screen. After all, she was lost in an alien dimension for a quarter-century: did she have a spare makeup kit with her when she went missing, and just saved it for when she knew the rescue was coming?

Nice to see Dutch as well-- I don't think I knew Hannah-John Kamen was in this.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

After we saw it last night, I told Paul that she clearly had been shopping at Quantum Sephora.

I think Paul Rudd basically looks his age? I mean, he looks good! He's aged well! But he doesn't actually look like he's in his 20s or 30s--he looks like a dude in his 40s (I mean, okay, he probably looks like he's in his mid-40s rather than late, but hey!).

He and Paul McGann and Keanu Reeves do need to share some of that fine wine aging with the rest of us, though.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I think it's the hairline. He's just been lucky enough there that he seems young looking. He does have lines on the forehead and around the eyes that are completely age appropriate.
