Discussion of all Marvel Cinematic Universe related movies and TV shows, including, but not limited to, the Avengers, Captain America, Agent Carter, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Daredevil, Spider-Man, Ant-Man, etc., etc., etc. ad-infinitum.
Discussion of non-MCU Marvel titles like the X-Men or the Fantastic Four is also permitted. Ties to comics may be discussed, but this is not the primary forum for comics discussion (see the Other Media thread).
Spoiler policy: For broadcast TV shows, blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast. For movies and Internet streaming shows, whitefont all plot-related discussion until it's been in wide release two weeks. Posters are encouraged to preface their posts to indicate the subject, particulary if switching subjects.
Ok, internet is back, I do not have to copy and paste to memo to read all the white font and I can make a long ass post.
So going in, I was expecting
Cap and Nebula to die. Those two will hit me the hardest and I was DREADING IT. I was really expecting Nebula to be dead early on. So I spent a lot of the movie just waiting for those to die. Loki
did not really surprise me and
let's be honest, much like Merlin on Arrow and Crowley on Supernatural, he was a bad guy that was kept around too long on the basis of charm and the actor,
imho.
Heimdall was not surprising, knowing Thanos came to Asgard. I actually thought both Loki and Thor might be fake outs and so just assumed they were not dead since it was so early.
The early movie, Tony had so many great lines. SO MANY. things were funny and snappy and THEY LULLED US IN!
I am not sure where they are going with
the Hulk refusing to come out stuff, but I guess it was smart to make all the fights more unsure.
When Cap and Nat and Falcon show up
I yelped.
I DO NOT LIKE WANDA AND VISION TOGETHER. NO. DO NOT WANT. It was funny, the Guardians getting involved. I love the Guardian movies, but I didn't love them mixed in with the Avengers. The confrontation with Thanos at Knowhere was A LOT. I'm not a huge Gamora fan, but man. And I was really afraid that Drax and Mantis were stuck in those altered states.
I wonder what
items from The Collector maybe escaped.
The first thing that really scared me and made me start crying
was when Tony was fighting Thanos and it was getting GRIM and he got stabbed. LOST IT. By then it was clear people were gonna die. Gamora was dead and Thanos was too strong.
The whole
battle at Wakanda was crazy. Very Helms Deep (which is a reference I use a lot, I think the last Star Wars made me think of it also). Those dogs things were not right.
I have
SO MANY NEBULA FEELINGS. SO MANY! Like, this is my main area of overwhelmed and I am just going to link to my DW entry. [link]
(Link contains spoilers and is my DW entry about something in IW.)
Yes! All that. I mean
she's been my favorite, so I always have too many feelings for her, but man.
sorry, I keep italicizing everything instead of whitefonting.
PMM, that's the fatal flaw in my theory. Maybe Steve
figures out away around the restriction, because he's Steve and he really doesn't leave anyone behind.
I mean, it's not like
he's done the learning to love yourself, greatest love of all thing and can just do it solo! Which would be one out, maybe?
msbelle,
SO MANY FEELINGS. Like, so many that it threatens to drown out my feelings about Steve's whole look.
Oh I did a whole little seat dance to the look. How can he walk around looking like he does RIGHT NOW, when he knows THAT look is possible. Role, SCHMOLE.
I need to go see it again. I mean clearly need to. maybe Sunday.

Look, Patti LuPone made sure to mention that, while Hollywood stars should get off her lawn stay off Broadway, she made an exception for that nice Chris Evans boy based on Lobby Hero, so clearly the sacrifice is worth SOMETHING.
Bwah! Patty ain't no fool.
With a side of so while off the grid, Steve, Sam, and Natasha were totally passing the time getting filthy with each other, right?
Clearly,
Natasha has seen shit that can turn your hair white in the last two years.
Interesting, Tom. I was just assuming that
they would get the gauntlet back from Thanos and Thor would have to be the one to wield it, but that it might kill
him.
Y'all know my feelings on the GotG. I mean, I was in Krewe du Groot for three years. One year, I dressed as Nebula (in 80s prom wear, because Grootloose). I HAVE ALL THE FEELINGS ABOUT ALL THE GUARDIANS. When
Rocket lost Groot AGAIN,
I about lost it. That ending felt like
Count Rogan had me in the machine and cranked it to
50.
Fucking hell, man. I'm going to see Black Panther again tonight. I'll watch IW again, but I might need to wait a week. And I need to sit next to someone I can lean on, literally.
