As your friend, I feel compelled to warn you: before watching the first movie, drink enough that you don't object to the idea of Jessica Alba playing a rocket scientist, and while watching the second movie make sure you're sober enough to find something else to do for five minutes as soon as you see a dance floor.

Well, I own both seasons of Dark Angel, so I have an entire suspension bridge for my disbelief.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

She's much more believable as a genetically engineered super soldier who periodically goes into heat.

Why was that FF movie never released?

The producers held the rights to the Fantastic Four, and if they didn't make a movie within a certain time frame, the rights would revert back to Marvel. So they made the cheapest movie possible.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Thinking about it, I've never been a big fan of the Fantastic Four, though I did watch the old cartoon that had HERBIE the robot (instead of Johnny) as a kid. Doom, on the other hand, has always been awesome in his over-the-top villainy. And that's been the problem with these movies, they keep trying to make Doom more "grounded", which eliminates what's so great about the character.

Doom just might be the perfect comic book villain. He's just so over the top and campy, yet he's still a legitimate threat, and there's just enough pathos to make him sympathetic.

Also, there is such an opportunity for a Vladimir Putin parody (Putin is the closest analog to Doom in both real life AND fiction). I don't understand how the filmmakers could pass on it.

brillig

Doom shows up in the Avengers Assemble cartoon. I guess that's just a different set of rights.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Ant Man was a perfectly serviceable summer superhero movie. I liked it, but have no desire to see it again.

Bummed about FF. I love Michael B. Jordan!

Just watched the 2005 version. It didn't suck as much as I had expected it would.

Hey. New board.

It's never been catwoman panned or anything. Never seen it since I have limited interest in the characters (and probably will until a really good movie is made) but it has the occasional defender so it can't be all bad.
