And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

My 10 and 6 year-olds had a great time at Spider-Man! I think they liked it almost as much as we old folks did!

(The only caveat for parents I'd offer is one line - totally innocuous in context - which led my 10 y.o. to ask "What's watching porn"? (because the audience was laughing and he didn't get it) and then I laughed so hard at his asking that he wanted to know even more.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Well, my son and I really enjoyed it. Still mulling where I'd place it in the ranking of Spidey movies, but it's near the top.

I got a kick out of one of the songs in the credits (I'm assuming the one Flash was playing at the party) being listed as "FLASHDRV performed by Eugene Thompson".

Ten?! Wow! How is that possible?

It seems way too quick, doesn't it? I'm trying not to think about the fact he's going to be a teenager in a few years.

BTW: There is one mid-credits and one post-credits scene if anyone wants to know.

Thrive to spite them

I saw the first one but not the very end. I'm going to try and see the movie again

That's one of my favorite Marvel post-credit scenes. I think it might go Iron Man 1, Avengers 1, and now Spider-Man: Homecoming.

My thoughts are a big ol' jumble about Spider-Man, but I really, REALLY loved it. Definitely need to see it again. I really liked Tom Holland (or, as Kat P. calls him, Spider-Baby) in Civil War, but I wondered if he could carry a whole movie. He KILLED IT as Peter Parker. He was so, SO good. And I really appreciate that we didn't have the origin story of spider bite and Uncle Ben getting killed. Nobody needs that again.

I loved the Vulture's coat being a way to modernize the classic costume (it reminded me of what the Flash TV show did with Captain Cold).

I didn't exactly shriek when Peter showed up to pick up Liz for the dance and the goddamn Vulture opened the front door, but I apparently gasped loudly enough that my brother (2 seats away) mocked me for it later. I did not see that coming.

Zendaya: "CALL ME MJ" -- I *may* have not-quite yelled "YES!!!!!" when that happened. And also didn't see that coming. She is the goddamn BEST.

I didn't know that Donald Glover was going to be in the movie, so that was a nice surprise. And also a possible hint at Miles Morales, so yay there.

About 15 seconds before Spidey ran past the TV with Ferris Bueller on it, I was thinking "Jeez, this is practically lifted straight out of Ferris Bueller," so well done for acknowledging it, movie.

And OH MY GOD Tony made him an Avenger!!!! But then he walked away! Peter Parker is THE BEST.

And the next movie had by god better not walk back Aunt May walking in on Peter in the Spidey costume or make it a joke or have Peter say it was for a costume party or something. I have long thought that Aunt May needs to explicitly know that Peter is Spidey.

Ned is the actual best.

And the running gag of Captain America PSAs was PURE GOLD. ("He's probably a war criminal now, but I have to show it.")

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Teppy is me when it comes to the movie. Loved it.
