The mid-season start is so The Inhumans can air for its run. Agents was already set up to have a shorter series to run in that slot as well, see Agent Carter. I think a shorter season makes for better writing, in any case. Friday night is worrisome.

Weirdly, the Inhumans will premier in IMAX theaters before it gets shown on TV.
And the showrunner for the Inhumans is the same guy who was in charge of Iron Fist, so.

I am kind of annoyed they went through all the trouble of resurrecting SHIELD as a real organization this season just to blow it up again.

Different topic... I'm reading Ms. Marvel and really enjoying it, but some of the crossover stuff seems to presume the reader is following the entire Marvel catalog. The most confusing bit involves The Inhumans and their control (or lack of) of New Attilan. Does it matter that I have no clue what is happening there? Also, is there a recent-ish entry point to Carol Danvers story or am I better off finding a summary of her history somewhere?
