If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I really enjoy Discovery, but not enough to pay for CBS All Access. If they ever stop sending DH screener links I'll wait and buy the seasons after they're done.

I watched a couple episodes of Another Life. I'm a sucker for mysterious alien and their mysterious artifacts, so I was really hoping it was going to be good, but it's just not coming together for me. Also, I have some serious questions about the crew selection process.

Gud, I had the same reaction. They had me at Katie Sackoff + spaceship, but...it's not good. I watched two episodes and I still don't entirely know what the show is about.

Some Random TV Producer: Uh, sure, I guess?

Yeah. It feels like asking someone to make a ship out of Legos. Stranger Things is like a they went out and got a kit for the HMS Warspite and put it together carefully while Another Life is just getting a bunch of random blocks and putting something together while watching a cooking show.

Thrive to spite them

I read someone's Live Tweet of the Another Life and it was... I had no idea what show it was because they didn't identify it until the end but it sounded so so so bad.

I watched up through episode 5 or 6 of Another Life this weekend on the off-chance that Netflix's patented "hook 'em by episode 4" thing would kick in, and I can safely report that it did not. I'll probably finish off the season anyway because I am stubborn.

How bad is Tyler Hoechlin in that, anyway?

Anyone watch The Great Hack documentary on Netflix about Cambridge Analytica? Holy shit.

The media embargo on Dark Crystal Age of Resistance has lifted and I am ready to report that I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I want to skip work today and spend hours putting screenshots of it next to screenshots from Farscape because wow, the Henson Company sure is committed to a very specific visual style.

It starts out a little slow but there's a point in ep 5 where we all just sat up straight and gaped, and when it was over my 12 year-old said it should be called Game of Thra'ns. (No, he has not seen or read any of GoT, but cultural osmosis in middle school is a thing, you know?)

The writing throughout is earnest and funny and warm. The mythology is lovely to soak in. It's family-friendly without being childish or simplistic. The puppetry, naturally, is amazing.

Mark Hamill doesn't voice the character you think he does, but he's great anyway, as are all the rest of the cast.
