I decided to cheat on my family (with my husband's permission of course) and watch the rest of Good Omens on my phone on the train. Ep 2 was weaker than Ep 1 (too many characters to introduce and not enough time to do anything else with them), Ep 3 is back to delightful perfection. The first 30 minutes especially are purest gold.
HOWEVER I must scold the showrunners intensely for their UTTER FAILURE to cast Peter Capaldi as Shadwell. As wonderful as it always is to see Michael McKean in anything, OH MY GOD THE CHARACTER IS A GRIZZLED SCOTSMAN WHO HATES EVERYONE AND MOST OF HIS LINES ARE JUST YELLING INSULTS ARE YOU PEOPLE FUCKING BLIND OR IS THERE SOME KIND OF UNION RULE LIMITING THE NUMBER OF DOCTORS PER SHOW.
(I have also decided that Frances MacDormand's role should have gone to Olivia Coleman. Basically I think this project should have involved fewer Americans.)
Those are constructive notes
My only criticism so far that really feels substantial is that Anathema's accent is all over the place.
I saw my first Good Omens vid, set to Queen (of course), on Tumblr today: [link] (Obviously spoilery for all 6 episodes.) It's kind of perfect.
Also delightful. Thanks for sharing that vid.
We watched the finale last night. I think I've been ruined for all other TV. I have to rewatch the whole series now, because there were parts I missed.
DX, it was mostly the plant life in the parks that was unnaturally green. And it's become a thing across most streaming content: both Polar and Umbrella Academy had the same green boost.

A fine choice. I would've gone with Helen Mirren.
I'm fine with McKean, although Capaldi would've also been good.

Yeah, that's different. That usually goes right by me.
Nothing against McKean but, yeah, Capaldi would have been perfection
It's quite a swing from Good Omens, but does anyone here plan to watch the third season of The Handmaid's Tale?
