I kissed him, and I told him that I loved him. And I killed him.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Amazon Prime is teaming up with BBC to produce King Lear, with Anthony Hopkins as Lear and Emma Thompson as Goneril: [link]

Talk about an interesting reunion, given that they played a couple (and an almost couple) in Howards End and Remains of the Day. Emily Watson will play Regan and Cordelia will be played by Florence Hugh. I am v. excited about Pugh - I recently saw her in Lady MacBeth, which is an amazing period film set in Yorkshire in mid 19th C, in which she plays a protagonist that turns from sympathetic to monstrous at a blink of an eye. It's formally austere and emotionally devastating. Not sure if the movie is streaming anywhere yet but I can't recommend it highly enough.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Moved from Boxed Set:

ST: Discovery --

1) Rickie!
2) Jeez that head of security was an idiot
3) Rickie!!!!1!

2) And the Darwin award for 2256 goes to...

Not getting the Rickie references.

The whole Klingon thing just drags.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Not getting the Rickie references.

The Doctor was played by Wilson Cruz who played Rickie on My So-Called Life.

Also, agreed on the draggy Klingons. Part of it is, I think, that they talk so damned *slowly*!

What does a yellow light mean?

Go slower.

What... does... a... yellow... light... mean...?

Go slower.

SuD... chep... qej... chay'...?

(Which reminds me that the Jim Ignatowski once played a Klingon.)

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yeah, the Klingon actors definitely weren't used to talking around those gnarly prosthetic teeth. They should have hired supporting players from TNG who had some practice.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Just starting the second episode. What the HELL is with the Klingon makeup?

Oh, wow, Patton Oswalt on Netflix. Laughing and crying at the same time.

Near as I can figure, they must've gotten a deal on surplus orc make-up now that WETA is done making Hobbit movies.
