I look more rad than Lutheranism

I watched the first episode of The Pitt, and it turns out that medical dramas still do not mix well with my anxiety, which is a fucking shame, because I really liked the characters. I just don't handle medical stuff well at all. I'll have to stick to Leverage: Redemption for my Noah Wyle fix.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

It does not get *less* intense. Good job looking out for your own well-being.

I have been seeing promos for some sort of Librarians sequel or spinoff or something, btw, but I don't have any reason to think Noah Wyle is part of that...

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

So many Skarsgards! I was thinking of Gustaf--Vikings' Floki, or Bill--It. But Alexander did Generation Kill, True Blood, and now Murderbot. And Daddy Stellan did Thor and other MCU movies, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mamma Mia, and my favorite, Wind. SO many Skarsgards.

ETA: AFAIK, Wyle is doing something as a doctor again. So no Librarian.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Someone else remembers Wind ? Wow.

Yes! My Whomper! You tie it on, it goes whomp, and we're back in the g*ddam race!

I still laugh myself silly at Skarsgard's character sitting in the hangar where they're trying to build the boat and playing "Skye Boat Song" with understandable melancholy on the cello. I and my DH were almost certainly the only people in the theatre who recognized the song and it's relation to the situation.

The hook for me was the sailplane. I was instructing in them in Colorado at the time.

Agreed. My anxiety responds to watching high-anxiety things sometimes. But not action movies. Captain America: Winter Soldier killed me when they were destroying all of the parked cars because all I could think of was having my car destroyed by a superhero and having to go through the insurance claim. But I find L & O SVU soothing.

Best guesses, dcp? Or have you experience sailplaning?

Yes. I've even posted a few stories about it, long ago in The Great Write Way.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Wheel of Time 3x7:

Took me a bit to unpack this episode because it was a lot and I needed to separate my reader brain from my watcher brain.

I absolutely love what the show is doing with Perrin and Faile. Their relationship is mostly frustrating in the books, but the show manages to keep the "feisty" aspect without it being toxic. Perrin telling her to "keep behind me" and when she immediately objects he finishes with "to kill the ones I miss" and the way her face lights up is just perfect.

Also, so many call backs in this episode to prior seasons, it feels like the true conclusion to this part of Perrin's character arc where he pulls together all the lessons he's learned so far. Just fantastic storytelling.

The show still suffers from having to speed through certain things at the risk of losing the proper weight but that feels like it's the nature of the beast with Amazon only giving them 8 episodes a season instead of the 10 they probably need to give everything room to breathe.
