Well, that's pretty darn gorgeous.
I'm still kind of afraid to believe in it.

The fact that they're all actual teenagers with actual teenage voices is throwing me for a loop, too. Too many years of Hollywood casting 20-somethings as teenagers has ruined my brain.
ETA: It looks like Bumi is going to be appropriately old. I know there was some grumbling from some fans when they cast a younger actor, but you're not going to find a buff elderly actor who can do convincing action sequences.
Did anyone watch Fall of the House of Usher? I think I may have fallen in love with Mike Flanagan, and horro is not my cup of tea. But it is so good. And now I mainlined Midnight Mass. Wow- the acting and the writing are so good, and I just love seeing all the same actors. They are so good- like a repertory company.

It's on my long list of things to watch! And your endorsement is persuasive.
Flanagan's stuff is great, though my favorite is The Haunting of Hill House.

I did. The game of counting down all the horrible Poe retelling deaths in the family was fun, even if the framing sequence monologues were a bit boring. And Carla Gugino was amazing!
And Carla Gugino was amazing!
This was what pushed me over the edge to loving it. It was like a showcase for her acting and so good- and she was a stand-out on Spin City! I find the monologues less boring as a theatre person, I thinlk. It helps me get over the squelching horror noises that are not for me...
If you love Carla Gugino, definitely watch The Haunting of Hill House.

I will definitely do that! I think I had it in the "Horror Is Not For Me" place, because my way into Buffy and even Twin Peaks was my love of the soap opera.
Just watched the first episode of Guy Ritchie’s The Gentleman on Netflix.
I mean, it’s nothing spectacular, but this kind of shit is exactly the sort of thing that I sign up for streaming services for in the first place. Why isn’t there more stuff like this, and why the hell is Netflix doing such a piss-poor job of promoting it?
