Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I'm not sure if this is the right place to bring this up, but seemingly Amazon will be doing a movie on the life of Louis Wain, starring Benedict Cumberbatch. DavidS, avoid this.

Apparently if you're enough of a power nerd, there is nothing that cannot be flowcharted.

I am incapable of watching anything else until I finish Ted Lasso. I am obsessed.

(Though I saw a still from that Leverage episode, and I'm pretty sure I know which actor you're talking about dcp.)

What is even happening?

I kept checking for Ted Lasso discussion in here at all the wrong times. Tom Scola and megan walker's talk in Natter about Bennington College ( [link] ) and Donna Tartt gave me a Jamie Tartt (doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo) earworm, which made me look, again. I wish juliana would come back and post her theories.

I love that ASH's character is named Rupert, even though he's a bastard. Also, a note from the shallow end of the pool, the more of a bastard Rupert is, the hotter ASH looks. He has aged like fine wine. He made me wish (again) that there had been a Ripper series (even though I don't want JW to ever revisit even one of the BtVS characters).

I love this show and am both happy and sad that it will end next season.

I am so angry at the show for getting that stuck in my head. But, like, amused-angry.

I love this show and am both happy and sad that it will end next season.

I binged a big chunk of S2 today and was not prepared for the breadth of daddy issues. Daaaaang. It was a little rough to watch, which I guess means it was really, really well done.

Also, fuck Nate. (I'm not quite done with S2, but I assume he doesn't have an altruistic change of heart in the last 2 episodes. What a dick.) (With, yes, hella daddy issues, but that's still not an excuse.)

When you're done with season two, Tep, actor Nick Mohammed put up a thought-provoking tweet about Nathan, but don't read it before you've seen the season.

It's pretty evident that working on the show means a lot to the cast and crew, which makes me love it more.

When you're done with season two, Tep, actor Nick Mohammed put up a thought-provoking tweet about Nathan, but don't read it before you've seen the season.

[Note: I have not read the tweet.] I can see that Nate feels like Ted isn't giving him as much attention as in S1 (actually, "feels like" probably isn't right; Ted *isn't* giving Nate as much attention in S2, but shit, Ted is Going Through It in S2 [although Nate doesn't seem to realize that]), and so that was going to push Nate's buttons hard. It's noteworthy to me that, in the locker room scene where Jamie punches his dad, after Jamie's dad is thrown out, Nate has the exact same expression on his face that Jamie does, because they have a similar background of shitty goddamn fathers causing them trauma.

I also think after a lot of the team bullied Nate in S1 until Roy got them to stop, in S2, Nate still reacts to things like he's being bullied (like the "Wonder Kid" jersey -- that was clearly not an attempt to humiliate Nate, but he read it that way, because he's still the guy who got bullied in S1), and that is also going to lead him to do shitty things once he has a modicum of power and notoriety.

I'm not excusing it, because god DAMN is Nate shitty, but there's a lot of complicated stuff going on that's pushing his buttons and he has no guidance on how to react to it. (He never had therapy with Dr. Sharon, right?)
