Watching ep 1 of Leverage: R and it's so charming, it's the Gardner heist! My Boston heart is full of glee.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

'Suela, I made loud "That is a place I have been to!" noises at that.

To my enormous amusement, Kane's "Thinking of You" just popped up on a playlist.

I have questions!

Did Maggie come to the funeral? Did Sterling come to the funeral? If so, I am sure he was exquisitely well behaved, out of respect for his former best friend and the certain knowledge that if he had poked the body to be sure Nate was dead, Eliot would have considered killing him a worthy distraction from his own grief.

Can Maggie and Tara come visit? Surely the team needs something authenticated or decoded?

Parker's "Don't leave [Brianna] with me, I am not a parent" - oh, my heart.

And more questions:

A thought I've seen floating around: Harry is who Nate would have been if Sam hadn't died, which, oooof, and what does Harry's family think he's doing all day? Is he divorced, with visitation every other weekend? What's his daughter's name? How old is she, beyond "old enough to appreciate EDM"?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yeah, I was wondering about Harry's family situation. He can just take off to Panama or wherever at any time, I guess he doesn't have a job anymore, exactly, what do they know and what do they think? Side note: I keep forgetting he has a first name, I like "our Mr Wilson" better

The thought of EVERYONE needing to poke Nate's body just to be sure is amusing me much more than is seemly.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Hee! I'm getting flashes of George Kennedy's entrance in Charade.

Thrive to spite them

ok my take is : Maggie would have totally been at the funeral. Sterling would have shown up but I think he would have maybe stayed at the back, or come in towards the end or something. And maybe he thought it was a con at first, but doing some preliminary surveillance he would realize it's real. Sterling has all kinds of alerts on all kinds of surveillance for Nate and when his name comes up Sterling goes checks immediately. In person, because this is the Leverage crew and if Nate's real name shows up like that then it is either real or a very elaborate con they are trying to make look real (because Hardison would never let their real names show up on hospital records othewise). If it is very elaborate , well it's something big, and Sterling could use another bump in his career. So he goes to check it out and try to catch them in some mistake he can use and he sees Maggie with Sophie and starts to think "Maggie, why did you get pulled into this again" and until he actually *sees* them all.. Eliot, Hardison. Parker. It's Parker that really gets him. She's gotten much better at grifting but she's not playing the role. He finds Maggie when she's alone (partly because he does know how to be respectful but mostly because he's afraid of Eliot's reaction). She tells him what happened, he knows what's on the medical files, he's read them. He offers his condolences and tells her how much he respected Nate. He does attend the service, in the back, quietly. Sterling assumes he's presences is noted but no one goes after him so he just is there for Nate and he pointedly ignores the criminals who are there. It's open casket and he waits until the church is empty and says a few last words, says his good bye to Nate. Reaches into the casket and pokes him.. just to be sure. Then looks around, a little guilty, mumbles a kind of apology, not so much to Nate but to Hardison, Sterling is sure if Hardison isn't watching this live he's at least recording it all just in case.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Cary Grant (also, if I remember correctly, it was James Coburn who checked to make sure the guy was really dead)
