The goat is the real hero of the show!
And I just made the mistake of trying to watch the Shadow & Bones aftershow. I’m not sure how I feel about having my intelligence assaulted by Netflix so relentlessly like that.

I appreciate the goat spoilers!
In this case, does "goat" stand for "greatest of all time"?
I don't know about that, but he's definitely Some Goat, as Charlotte might say.
Just finished and I'm generally pleased. Interested to see how Season 2 goes, for sure!
Also, it occurred to me at some point that Starkov is probably as close as I'm gonna get to seeing my last name in a work of fiction, so it's a good thing I like this one
I just finished Shadow and Bone. Now I want to read all the books, but I bet the library holds are through the roof!
Also Some Goat!
The books are very satisfying. I recommend getting on the hold list for the whole series (although I do think reading in order is a good idea)
That is my plan. I think I really want more of the Six of Crows storylines. I also really loved Nina and Matthias. And of course the main storyline. At least, unlike Bridgerton, I won’t start to read the novels only to remember I have already read them, because I don’t generally read much fantasy unless is also m/m romance. Or really, KJ Charles.
I listened to several interviews with the writer/creator of the series, and he seems like a lovely man, He described himself as a caretaker for adapted works, and also talked about making sure that his writers room and crew included mixed race folks, because he wasn’t the right one to tell the story. I liked that he said “I can’t take credit for the success, because I make sure I am working with the best people, and it is everyone’s success, but if it is a failure, it is my failure” (paraphrase). I love seeing artists like this (and Lin Manuel Miranda) who are just so collaborative. You do not have to be a shitty person to make good art!
Aw, always nice to hear about a creator doing stuff right.
Nina is my girl and the Crow books are my favorites. The Crows plot line on the show is not from the books at all, but it suits them.
