It's called a blaster, Will, a word that tends to discourage experimentation. Now, if it were called the Orgasmater, I'd be the first to try your basic button press approach.

Xander ,'Get It Done'

ita's thread

A place where we can talk about ita, miss ita, and share information about memorials. The hugging started over here in Natter.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

From 2001:

Holli: And while the Bitches are like the beloved and slightly eccentric aunts I never had, the Bitch thread is not a place I'd feel comfy about accidentally dropping into. The same may well apply to others here, so a folder all their own might be a good idea.

ita: She called me eccentric!

I'm not eccentric. I might be crazy, but I'm not eccentric.

What.....No.

She was one of my role models for how to be fannish about stuff in a thoughtful and classy way. RIP, ita.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

Zenkitty, yes, Atlanta was the one F2F I went to. Such a lovely weekend that was, even if I was nervous and felt out of my depth.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I realized what the solution is to the wanting to hug the board thing.

I'll just have to come to the next F2F.

I carried a watermelon.

I used to lurk here years ago and only delurked once in the Delurking thread. For that reason I felt like maybe it would be intrusive or weird to post something after I read the news on Plei's LJ. But I haven't been able to stop thinking about ita and you all on and off for the past two days, so not saying anything and just "supporting you in e-mail" felt wrong too.

As someone who never talked to ita (lower case! I learned that early on and never forgot about that) there's obviously nothing I can say that you all who knew her haven't already said, and more and better, too. That feeling of wanting to impress her or wanting to be more like her, though? I had to wobbly-smile at that because it was so recognizable. She was that kind of person to me, too. Smart and sharp-witted, a little intimidating because of that (and because she could kill you with her pinky) but at the same time much less so because she was kind and funny, too.

It's entirely unfair for the world to be one less fierce, intelligent and kind person and, most of all, for her family and friends who knew and loved her better to have to miss her.

I'm so so sorry for your loss, Buffistas.

From the TT Bureaucracy thread on the day after we got the news that TT was going to be for pay...

I had a thought, spurred by Tom, I think.

*If* one were to design a web discussion forum, what would one want? I'm not thinking for the moment of a highly reconfigurable one, I'm thinking of what would rock the hardest, Buffista-style? What strikes me first is that I'd like better user information screens -- ability to maintain your own little links page, show your pic, plus descriptive text, without any HTML knowledge required. I also like a little "edited on ...." for edited posts.

*If* we were to design one, what would it look like?

Mostly lurking...

For all the poo-pooing people do towards online relationships, we have a record of our interactions that you just can't get otherwise. We're not just recollecting these conversations, we can relive them over and over and over.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

DX, that gave me shivers.

I can't even.

Tiny acorns indeed. That's very cool, DX.

Crying at my desk. I never met her in person, but I had a few email exchanges with her after I stopped posting here and kept up with her on Tumblr and i09. I pretty much idolized her. Was in awe of her and kinda scared of her too.

I just finished reading through all the ita posts.

My god, you Buffistas are all still so amazing. So glad to have once been a part of it all.

Also glad to see so many from the original Old School Salon TT days still around and checking in.
