This is a time of celebration, so sit still and be quiet.

ita's thread

A place where we can talk about ita, miss ita, and share information about memorials. The hugging started over here in Natter.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

In light of the most recent episode of Doctor Who and the mother of the actor in question being Jamaican, I thought "ita would be rampaging through the thread singing, and then looking for someone to make her a coat." And oh, the hunt for the right glasses . . . .

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I avoid FB like the plague, except for my kids and the Buffistas, so I got missed by that. What I did get was an e-mail from the memorial archive for her. I did go look to reread some of the things people had posted about her. ita was such a strong personality, she could never be forgotten, but it's always nice to be reminded of just how remarkable she was to others besides us.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

I just felt like I needed to post here to celebrate our new Jamaican VP. Miss you, ita!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I've been thinking about that too.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Thinking about ita today.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Yeah, Facebook reminded me.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

It reminded me that we had a sea of pink gingham as far as you could scroll and we were all united in our grief.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I've been thinking about ita too. But I've had Ginger on my mind for several days now. I would love to hear her commentary on 2020.

Yeah, I asked her a lot about early 70s fandom and her collection of original Science Fiction/Fantasy art, but there's always more to know.

I hope Mr. Peabody's okay.

Also, my feed had DXM's ita action figure in memorial, and now he's gone too.

Yeah, I had that. Well, I posted it, didn't I? Seeing that was a double poke in the gut.

I would love to hear her commentary on 2020.

Hey, Georgia flipped to blue, and while Stacy Abrams and the rest of her team deserve the credit for that, I still like to think that Ginger gave a little nudge, too.
