ita's thread

A place where we can talk about ita, miss ita, and share information about memorials. The hugging started over here in Natter.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'll make a post on Observation Deck on Monday when they will have more traffic.

I'll mention the John Moore tribute and the scholarship fund too.

If I only had a brain...

Thank you for the link to the former improv guy. I'm sitting here in tears. So many people not just knew ita but got ita, or at least their fragment of her.

Our wings are not tired.

And I'm maudlin and shit.

There's a lot of that going around.

It's a comfort to know that things are being taken care of by loving people. Having been through the process I just, well I am holding you all in my heart.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Crying for lots of reasons. John Moore's piece is heartbreakingly spot on.

If there is anything that is not claimed, I'd like something small.

I'm glad her family is treating you and everyone else as family. No hugs, just hairpats.

Always Anti-fascist!

It's weird, since we never got to do that together, but I felt very close to her eating things that she liked and listening to reggae in the restaurant.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

We were out with friends today, who were talking about their experiences in krav maga (side story: this woman took down a man much bigger than her...and then turned and, because she wasn't looking, clotheslined herself at the neck in BARBED WIRE [I didn't ask why barbed wire was there; that doesn't sound like a safe facility, though]). I got to tell them about ita's insistence that you always go for the nut shot if you can take it. (They agreed.)

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

ita's obituary is up: [link]

Thank you to Burrell, Kat, Ginger, and Allyson for writing it. It's beautifully written.

And thank you to all of the LAistas who are doing so much for ita and her family as we speak and will continue to do so.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, that's lovely.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

That was beautiful.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The writing is perfect and the picture looks wonderful.
