Yeah, even for a good-looking guy, asking "how much" is easier than spending some amount of time chatting a woman up in a bar or wherever. What strained my suspension of disbelief was the hooker leaving her number with an offer to meet up in her free time; soulless Sam may have been hot and technically proficient, but he was hardly charming. If she just wanted to be treated like a piece of meat by an attractive guy I'm sure had some johns who'd do that and still be fine with paying for it.

I've seen examples of the names Echols and Echles in my area of the country, but Jensen's family are the only Ackles I've ever heard of.
