Is that Mrs Patmore?

Oh my god, I was trying to think who she reminded of! I bet it is!
Also, young!Dean is so good. SO good.
No Taylor Swift! Just NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, it was the cook from Downton. Driving me nuts too, till I looked it up.
I adore Mrs. Patmore. She's always been one of my favorite Downton characters.
It was a good episode, but I couldn't help thinking how much ita would have loved so many things about it. "Functional alcoholic," for one.
Stumbled onto the last episode of S9 this morning, and then sobbed through "Can't Find My Way Home." That song already gutted me, and now it just aches.
"I'm just . . . dewier"
Hahaha!
After all the de-aged PWP fics, this is kind of disconcerting.
But beyond that, I was really pleased, knowing nothing about the ep, to find so many callbacks to their childhood. Now I'm kind of annoyed that they can't bring in those reminders of brotherliness and shared history without actually having it to set up a deaging storyline. What I'm saying is: more please!
I just loved that in the midst of Sam lecturing Dean in the beginning, they took the time out to banter about the Easter Bunny, and it was such a nice subtle moment. They can keep doing that without it having to relate to the A-plot.
Okay, finished, and that was lovely. The child actors were great and did a great job of conveying adulthood. Nice tie-in at the end to keep the overarching plot moving forward just a skosh. Great BAMF moment when adult!Dean comes back into the picture. Sacrilegious but funny moment at the end with Taylor Swift and Sam's horrified face.
and now it just aches.
I'm so sorry, Amy. Sending hugs.
LOVED this episode! Thoroughly enjoyable. I would comment, but it would be embarrassingly too much like what Juliebird said.
I went looking for current pics of Ridge Canipe, who played young(er) Dean in the Christmas Ep and the Strega ep, wondering if he would be a closer physical match to twink Jensen. Um, NO. I like the kid, and think he's a good actor, but he should have made enough from the Johnny Cash movie to fix his teeth! That movie won the Nordic award, though for 2014. Whatever the Nordic award is.
There was an interview with Dylan, who said Jared gave him some invaluable advice about how Jensen approaches playing Dean. I thought that was a really kind thing to do. Plus, it built a good rapport between them, and I think it helped their chemistry onscreen. I think Dylan did an admirable job of playing Young Dean.
